Bonnie Wilcoxson, Edinburgh, IN
6-cut  wool on burlap

Bonnie's bunnies (pattern #700) were worked with wool from a plaid coat, and she gets some of her great colors by dyeing her recycled wool with Kool-Aid.

Kathy Cowart, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina
24" x 34" on Monk's Cloth

For "Ice Cream Castles" (pattern #103), Kathy used a #5 cut and the wool is “as is”, spot dyed and dyed. The “jewels“ were purchased at a local bead shop. The rug [a wall hanging] will be a Christmas gift for her 6-year-old granddaughter, Katie.  (Kathy also added their guinea pig, Spot, and and their Black Lab, Clipper.)

Ruth Viste, Maiden Rock, WI
6-cut on burlap, 41" x 26"

Ruth decided her jester (pattern # 501) was the comedian "Carrot Top" doing a Marcel Marceau impression, so she tea-dyed some white fabric for the face and developed her color combination in honor of the New Orleans Mardi Gras.

Fallen Leaves E-design
Kathy Cowart, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

Kathy hooked Fallen Leaves on a linen ground and used primarily a 6-cut to "paint" her leaves, with stems and veins in a 4-cut.

Pysanky by So Jeo, Scotsburn, Nova Scotia
(click on thumbnails for larger pictures)

This Chicken Pysanka Pysanky Ukrainian Easter Egg was inspired by the e-design Crewel Diversion.  So Jeo's eggs are made in the traditional batik, wax resistant process on a real chicken egg.  The egg has a small hole in the bottom to remove the contents and is sealed with several coats of varnish.  You can purchase her beautiful eggs through her online store:

Close-up

Karen  hand dyed the wool for Crewel Sampler using Woolrich and York woolens. The flowers and leaves were done with 4 cut strips and the background is 8-cut.

Sadie Hooked Rug
Ruth Viste, Maiden Rock, WI
6 and 8-cut on burlap

Under the Rainbow was personalized in memory of beautiful Sadie.  Her mistress, Ruth, traced Sadie's face onto tracing paper and then redrew the e-design dog using the tracing as a pattern.

Crewel Sampler Hooked Rug
Jennifer Currie, Lindsay, Ontario
33" X 22"

Jennifer hooked the flowers of this colorful Crewel Sampler by mixing 3, 4, and 6-cut scraps, and her dark, 6-cut background really sets them off!
